The reason why I gave this company 5 stars is because the people are professional, their work is outstanding, and they are always available when you call. When Scott and I sat down to discuss my project he spoke to me as a person and not as another job. I was impressed and I knew that I was going with his company. My floors are beautiful.

The entire project was an excellent experience for me. Scott, the owner, included me in every part of the process. He understood what the water issue was immediately. The process started on time and over the five days it took to complete, Scott was there at some point each day. The demolition crew came and efficiently did their job and cleaned up totally afterwards. Then came the plumber, the fabulous tile man, and the painter all doing their jobs efficiently and leaving everything spotless when they were finished.. The tile work was beautiful.. He even used a laser beam to insure everything was aligned perfectly. Off course, Scott was so wonderful to work with. I would only use Footprints for any future projects!

They replaced our carpet with hardwood floors and put in 3 tile backsplashes. The work was perfect! The communication was awesome! We have used them on 2 previous projects and they never disappoint!

From start to finish working with Footprints was a breeze. Scott, the owner, came out to do the free estimate and was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions on the spot. He was engaged, unlike the other representatives from competitors. We received our estimate before Scott left, as opposed to the competitors which took up to a week if not longer. We even made changes to our project with a few days notice of the start with no issues. Throughout the project I was in constant direct contact with Terrance, the project manager, who shared updates of ETAs, changes and progression of the project. When I found issues he was quick to address and fix them. When deciding the color they put samples down on the floor prior to sanding so we could make a better decision. This was quite helpful because the stain I liked did not look as expected once it was on the floor. I will be referring Footprints to anyone who asks!

My house was built in 1900 and some areas of my floors (original wood floor) were causing me concern. Had some boards that were cracking and a bit loose. Scott met with me and explained that the concerns were cosmetic and/or could be fixed with minor repairs I could do myself. He was professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly, didn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need. Highly recommend.

Very friendly, efficient, and collaborative process. I worked with Scott and Terrence who were both great. Terrence and his team completed the project while I was away; they were respectful of my property and the few items that were inside the house. I never once worried about the fact that they were there when I was out of town. Terrence called and texted me daily with updates. Regarding the work, I opted for a water-based natural finish with amberizer. The floors look terrific! There were rough spots that they got out via sanding that I did not think would come out. They also removed an odd built-in in a bedroom that the previous owner installed, allowing the team to create an evenly textured floor in the entire room. Very impressed. Highly recommend. I know that it is a lot of money to spend, but it is worth it to have a clean, new look in your home. Be sure to follow all of Scott’s tips for caring for the floors to avoid damage over time.

Company was easy to work with from beginning to end. We were replacing old carpet with laminate flooring. The crew was fast, polite and cleaned up after. Would recommend them to anyone looking for floor installation.

Scott came out to look at a section of floor that was cupping—shot really straight, gave me some suggestions to remedy the issue before resorting to a whole refinish, and said he’d be happy to help when the other moisture variables were accounted for and we were ready to refinish the whole floor. I’ll definitely be calling them back when we’re ready. Integrity matters and these guys have it.

Footprints refinished a 70+ year old floor in one of our federal housing units. It was absolutely destroyed from glued carpet and years of neglect. It turned out amazing. Footprints Floor Richmond is a highly professional and personable flooring company. Scott explains their services, details the steps of the project, provides cost competitive quotes. Ken manages the projects effectively and ensures all goes well and the customer is totally happy with their work. They leave NO MESS!!! They totally clean up behind themselves. Over the past two years, Scott's team have replaced vinyl flooring in four of my bathrooms and laundry room. They just recently, November 2024, completed tiling work in my owner's bathroom renovation. They removed the old flooring, replaced with tile, did the baseboard trim, and tiled the walls/niche around the vanity with mother of pearl tile. It is absolutely gorgeous. I am totally satisfied. (Disregard the lighting in the picture. The new lights will be more modern and centered when they arrive. Obviously this is not within scope for Scott's team.) They will be back to lay hardwood floors in my downstairs level and to tile the backslash in my kitchen. I would definitely you recommend you give them a try.

I could not be happier! Our floors turned out incredible. We bought the house from another state and the floors were UV damaged and splotchy and very red/pink. Scott communicated and worked with us via text/phone and we were able to get his team in to do the work before we moved in which was AMAZING. Him and Jonatan were very communicative and creative when it came to solutions for some things that popped up along the way. Scott is so kind and really just wants you as his customer to be so ecstatic about your floors - and we are! Would recommend him and his team to anyone and everyone.

Pleasant floor refinishing experience right from the start. The owner Scott arrived on time, took measurements and was able to provide the estimate immediately. I texted my project manager, Jonatan, and he asked around before providing me the best solution for the stain. That method didn’t work so he came out to sand it down and refinish it. Footprint Floors is a rarity in the wild west of construction. My job required some out-of-the-box thinking. Instead of the standard no we can’t do that response. Scott and his crew at Footprints Flooring took on a complicated floor repair and finishing job in our 1867 built home on a short timeline. Working with them was a pleasure. He worked above and beyond expectations to finish quickly and with excellent results. Footprints would be my first choice for hardwood flooring in the future. When the materials were unavailable to meet our needs on our timeline they worked overtime to source and mill the wood onsite and actually saved us money

I got a quote for my living room to replace carpet with LVP and within a week the work was completed. It was very simple and easy. You do, in some cases, have to buy the materials yourself so I recommend you are very clear on what you need to buy with the estimator (I.e transition materials). Would use this group again!

From the appraisal to the end of the job, they were awesome. Eddie the appraiser, worked with me and showed how they could correct a bad job on ceramic tile repair and how they could correct it. He helped me through the process and told me when they were coming. He checked the grout to match my old grout and made sure everything matched. The tile man came on time and did amazing job. Jonatan came and checked on the job to make sure everything was going great and then came back and checked how it looked when finished. It was a great experience working with this company. I was so impressed.

Have a mid-Century trilevel with unfinished oak floors. Footprints brought back the floors to life. Maybe not the cheapest but certainly the best in RVA.

Only thing I will mention is if you want flooring under your hot water heater make sure to have it drained and moved before footprints arrives as they are not licensed drain water heaters. The young men who worked on our floors- we had a crew install both hardwood & also vinyl planks and a different crew who refinished stairs and a room- were all extremely hard workers, polite and cleaned up after their work each day. The project manager, Jonatan, was also polite and followed up with us daily and had a good rapport with the crews. We would definitely have them back to do additional work at our house.

My home was built around 2000. I had hardwood floors throughout my downstairs except my living room was wall to wall carpet. With two dogs and lots of age, my carpet only came so clean after professional cleaning. It was embarrassing. I had it in my mind to look into replacing the carpet with hardwood floors. Without any recommendations, I googled hardwood floors in the Richmond area. Footprint Floors was the first of three websites that I found and reached out to. It was only a few days before Scott, the owner, came to my house to talk with me about what my thoughts were. I knew that replacing the carpet in the living room was number one, so that was the first idea. The second idea…If I could have it my way, I would have hardwood flooring put into the living room and have all existing downstairs flooring sanded and stained with the darker brown stain to match the new flooring in my living room and give my floors a contemporary look and a much-needed upgrade. We went around downstairs and Scott called out measurements as I wrote them down. He did some figuring and let me know a breakdown of costs as well as the total cost to have all my entire downstairs with refurbished hardwood flooring stained in a darker brown. I was surprised by the total cost. I had the job priced by two other flooring companies and Footprint Floors was the lowest cost. It did not take me long to say, “Let’s do this.” The work started a week to 10 days later. Scott told me what to expect. Jonatan who headed up the project communicated with me each day and answered questions I had while Scott checked in as well. I’ve got to tell you; my floors look amazing! My downstairs went from ho-hum to extremely classy and contemporary. It is a show place! The price was quite affordable and the flooring is first class, no doubt. I know that if and when I resell the house, these improvements are going to raise the value big time. But I don’t really want to sell because I am so pumped up about my space now.
