Shawna and her team were such a joy to work with that I had them back a second time for another project in my home. From the estimation, to the demo, to the install, communication was abundant. We recently worked with Footprints Floors in Raleigh to refinish our 20-year old hardwood floors and hardwood steps, and to install new hardwoods in a master bedroom. We hired Footprints because of the great up-front service received from the owner Shawna who took more time than other companies to explain their process and answer our questions. She also provided a competitive quote that included moving furniture, a service most other competitors do not offer as we found out when getting other quotes. The Footprints bill is a little cheaper if you pay in cash rather than credit card (surcharged). The work performed was quite extensive, and we were very pleased with the result, taking our worn and dated orange/maple-colored floors into the 21st century with a more modern Scandinavian white pine look (see attached photos). The three-person crew took about 8-9 days to finish everything, including a couple of half days where they worked on installing the new hardwoods before applying the same sanding and solutions to everything. Our process was perhaps more extensive than others, as we had the company apply a "red out" solution that gave the red oak floors the white pine look we were after. The crew did a thorough job, responding to all questions we had and fixing a few air vent issues we pointed out to our satisfaction. As the owner will tell you up front, this process is extremely dusty and will scuff up baseboards and risers to the point that they need to be repainted along with the new primed white quarter round, so factor cleaning and repainting into your project. The crew did use equipment that captured the bulk of the dust, removing bags of sanded debris from the job site, but it's not a perfect process and all of our walls still need to be wiped down. We appreciated how flexibly Footprints coordinated with a second contractor who replaced our handrail and spindles at the same time their crew was working on the floors. It was a complicated process and it helped that someone from our home stayed at home and was available to check in with the crew and contractor regularly, but in the end we are pleased with the result and are moving on to the repainting. I would and have recommended Footprints Floors to friends who are considering similar renovations.

Could not recommend Footprints Floors more! Working with both Shawna and Amanda was a dream. After having a flood in our house, they came in to save the day and handled everything so seamlessly and even helped us deal with insurance! Seriously could not recommend them more! 10/10 experience!

Outstanding experience. We had a fairly small job to replace some damaged wood floor and sand and re-stain the area. From the very first visit, Shawna was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and made it clear customer service was a priority. That did not change through the whole experience. Communication was great and I never felt like our small job wasn't as important as a large one. The floor looks amazing and I have told friends about this company. We had LVP installed with Footprint Floors, and we could not be happier. Amanda came by to give an initial quote, along with some flooring suppliers they recommend (one of which we purchased from). The pricing was good, along with the fair warning that if the subfloor was not level, they would need to level it that would come with additional cost (labor plus materials). Once we had our material, we were then booked in for install. Amanda’s team did a tremendous job. They got the floor up quickly, found the floor was not level, and took the time to show me. They leveled it, and got the new floor installed. We’ve had it completed for a couple of weeks, and it’s perfectly flat, and couldn’t be happier. We have a couple more jobs around the house that will be done in time, and Amanda and her team will be who we select for that work. 10/10 would recommend for price, quality, and being great humans!

My wife and I decided to replace the carpet that was on the 2nd floor of our house as well as our stairs. We were originally thinking about LVP. We got several quotes from local flooring companies and all of them installed and sold the flooring — with the exception of Footprints. Footprints only installs the flooring and the more I researched flooring options, the more I realized that the installation was extremely important. Shawna was the representative from Footprints that provided the quote. She is also the one that told us to consider Laminate flooring, which is what we went with. But we only went with that after doing research and deciding that this was the best option for us. Footprints does have relationships with a couple of flooring stores in the area and we were able to talk with a few of the experts in order to help us make a decision. The great thing about this is that neither Footprints nor the flooring stores cared which flooring we chose, plus we were given the discount that Footprints would have gotten if they would have sold it to us. Shawna did preface her quote with the statement that if our floors weren’t level then there would be an additional cost to level them with self leveler that is poured onto the floors. Shawna was the only one that mentioned this but it made sense. And I researched it and it is indeed important to do this because if you don’t then you may have issues with your Laminate or LVP flooring later on. As it turned out, our floors weren’t level so there was an additional cost and it extended the installation. But Shawna explained everything very well and showed me what needed to be done. The installers that she brought in were excellent and it was easy to see that they really cared about doing a good job. And Shawna came to my house every day so that she could personally see the progress and keep me informed as well as answer any of my questions. I think the pictures speak for themselves but we are extremely happy with the results. We highly recommend Footprints!!

After getting several quotes for adding hardwood floors, repairing sections of existing hardwood floors and finishing all the floors, Footprints Floors has had the best prices. They were responsive (and patient) to all of our calls before and after the contract was signed. They provided a schedule for the work describing what would be done and what we needed to do with recommendations on care and maintenance after the installation. They were on schedule throughout the entire process. It has been a pleasure working with them and I am highly recommending Footprints Floors.

Simply put, a great business. Over the past several years we've contracted different businesses for significant home improvement projects, but not always with a 100% satisfaction. Thankfully, as it turned out, we saved the best for last. First off, our flooring project manager, Amanda, was very professional, knowledgeable, approachable, and kept consistently engaged throughout. She visited everyday to check in on her work crew to ensure their resource needs were met and that any questions we had were answered. Great communication, she was articulate, practiced her craft well, and discussed every decision with us no matter how trivial. We could not have asked for a better work crew. A special shout-out to Darwin and Nahoon for their workmanship, sticktuitiveness, HONESTY, and overall work ethic. They identified several sub flooring areas that needed repair before flooring could be laid down. This prolonged our project timeline of course, but instead of overlooking (hiding) these critical issues to rush through the job, they were forthcoming with us, adjusted their efforts as needed, and WORKED HARD to finish our project like total pros. I cannot express how much this meant to me, as we had to address similar issues like this with less than scrupulous businesses on previous projects. In fact, this back and forth tussle had become so common, we were starting to believe this dysfunctionality was the norm until contracting with Footprints. They're as honest as the day is long. Of their installation staff, I'd say that if we were building a new house from top to bottom, we’d take special steps to make sure they were included as project leads. We were so pleased with the final result, that when the job was done we sent the installers away with giftbags. Never felt compelled to do that before, ever. In short, Amanda and Shawna are experienced flooring experts. They run a well-oiled operation. They offer a wide range of flooring options and employ highly skilled, conscientious installers. It's been at least 2+ months, and we still absolutely love our floors. I had several boards that needed to be replaced. Did a google search for a flooring company. Picked 3 that had good ratings, and started calling in no particular order. The first company never returned my call. The second company set up a free estimate the day I called but never showed up the next day. You can see who did respond, show up, and did an excellent job. I value my time and my money and Footprints Floors valued that also. They were able to come out for the estimate within 3 days, get me the estimate the same day they saw the damage and schedule the work within a week. The team that came out knew the job and knocked it out with no issues, and excellent cleanup. We had the most amazing experience using Footprints Floors! I had purchased a 113 year old home & at the time Amanda came out to look at my home - I just knew if anyone could help us make these sloping floor’s perfect again her company could! It’s because of her expertise that we would hire a contractor to fix what we would discover were bad floor joists & subfloors. We had 5 different contractors work on our home & Footprints Floors was one of the only ones who we didn’t have to fire & start over with. Superb people, superb craftsmanship!! It was a bit nerve-wracking to proceed with an entire first floor tear-up in order to have a new LVP floor installed, but from the moment Amanda and her crew entered my house, I knew it was going to be “OK”. Everyone was positive, professional, and invested in getting the install completed as quickly as possible while maintaining high standards with the details. The new floor was needed as a result of flooding from the second floor, so the stress level was high long before Footprints arrived. Within minutes of reviewing the project with Amanda, I could sense the “we got this!” attitude which I was SO grateful for. All of the sudden it became easier. Every step of the process was explained up front so I understood what to expect, and every day during the install Amanda or Shawna would check in to monitor progress and answer questions. Following a flood in my kitchen due to a burst filter in the middle of the night, I saw minor warping on the edges of the hardwood floor boards. I called Footprints to get an expert opinion, & was SO fortunate that the owner, Ms. Amanda Wilkins, came to my home. Unlike a second company I had also called, Amanda measured the amount of moisture in the flooded area vs another part of the house. While, of course, the kitchen section was wetter, it was not dangerously so. In the end, I was re-assured that I did not have to replace/re-furbish all my flooring at this time. What a relief! Amanda is knowledgable, honest & cordial (& leads a women-run company)! I highly recommend Footprints & will turn to them again when I decide it is time to re-furbish or replace the hardwood floors in my house . I am confident the work will be done with high competence at a fair price.

They continued to check on the ongoing work throughout the process and were patient and always with good cheer. Our installers, Darwin and Nahun with their many years of experience were amazing to watch. They did excellent work. We made it through our water leak and all the damage it caused, and now our new floors are gorgeous! The team at Footprints was truly amazing to work with - from the initial quote to final product. They were very knowledgeable, and gave us a lot of information and advice throughout the process. When I was being indecisive about the floor colors, the next day they came back with a few different stain options so that we could find what we wanted. The team even worked with us when moving the fridge so that we could finish painting behind it :) Everyone was nice and professional, and I would use them again in a heartbeat!

Amazing service! Darwin and Naun installed lvp for us on stairs and in all our bedrooms. Our stairs had one very tricky area where the side of the stair tread was visible and there are no pre-made lvp solutions for this. They spent lots of time custom cutting a solution and it looks amazing. They also made sure that our sub flooring was prepped and perfectly level and they fixed some areas where older nails used to secure subfloor joists were coming loose Amanda was here at least 2 times a day during install to check in which I appreciated. The reviews are right- this is the installer you want.

Great local, small business. Shawna and Amanda were so responsive and informative through out the entirety of our project. We replaced our entire first floor flooring (carpet, tile and manufactured wood) with a luxury LVP plank flooring. Our concrete subfloor required a lot of prep and Footprints did a great job with the subfloor and plank install. Probably the best contractor I have worked with in all of my numerous home projects over the last 10 years.

Shawna was very responsive throughout the whole process of installing LVP floors in our house. They had to come over a couple additional times to fix installation issues and were very professional about it. Shawna and the installers at Footprint flooring took care of our hardwood floor install. They did a beautiful job laying the hardwood to integrate with the existing hardwood floor. Because our subfloor was not level, they took extra care to install a sleeper system with angles cut to the slope necessary for the new floor to be flush with the existing floor and it looks fantastic!
