Tom did a fantastic job on our backsplash tile — it looks gorgeous! He worked with a very old house that had a mix of uneven plaster and drywall, and you’d never know it from how seamless the result looks. Wow! I can not speak highly enough for Kyle, David, and Ovi. Even though the job was small they had phenomenal follow up, communication and support. They repaired a few areas of hardwood floor that had been removed by previous owners and the matching was seamless. I can not tell where the repairs were done because of the quality of the work. When there was need for adjustments to some of the work (due to no fault of theirs) they went above and beyond to make sure the floor was perfect. Kyle and team did an incredible job with my floors. My condo building is pretty old and I know the subfloor was a challenge - but it looks absolutely perfect. I had the team remove old carpet to replace with hardwood in the bedroom, and it looks so beautiful I'm seriously thinking about doing the entire condo. Kyle is great to work with and the finished product truly is stunning. I left them to do the work while I was out of town - so I trusted Footprint Flooring completely with my home and they did not disappoint. I loved everything about the process and the finished product, and could not be happier with my choice to work with these guys! I went with them because of the very rare negative review and how they responded to/handled it. We had one tiny 'issue', if you can even call it that, with some accidentally missed molding in a closet, and they were back the next day to complete it. I wanted a flooring company to install Karndean Glue-down LVP in my kitchen so I got quotes from a couple different companies. I decided to go with Footprints Floors for three reasons: the quote was lower than the other company; they got great reviews online; and Kyle, the owner, seemed extremely knowledgeable about glue-down LVP installations. It also helped that he was very responsive whenever I had any questions. In the end, Kyle's team did an amazing job preparing and installing the plywood underlayment, filling in huge gaps in the subfloor, installing the LVP, and making the transition pieces. My expectations are pretty high when it comes to quality of work, and if anything didn't look right, I would have asked for it to be redone. The good news is that the installation was perfect! I plan to use them again for my basement floor (when the time comes).

We needed 117-year-old floors refinished and restored and the result is amazing. Pawel is an artist, and was able to get problem areas fixed, repair some areas, and do it all with care, precision and expert craftsmanship. Kyle the owner is easy to work with and helpful with great advice. It’s not cheap to refinish floors, but this was totally worth it!

Kyle responded to our request for a quote immediately and when he visited, he also saved us a significant amount of money by pointing out that we had been over sold by our flooring dealer. When it came to installation, Kenni, who was our installer, provided excellent service. He was reliable and paid a lot of attention to detail. He also was careful in his use of materials so that in the end we had 3 boxes of flooring and extra sound barrier to return to the dealer for refund. As to price, Footprints is great value for money, the bid was reasonable and was exactly as promised. Tenants left an apartment with horrible black cat urine stains and stench. Kyle and his crew were able to sand out stains and use a stain for fabulous even toned oak flooring that looks brand new. Left them the keys and they did their thing. Any questions or concerns I had were answered within minutes. Very easy to contact. Would definitely recommend.

So, I interviewed three or four places. Why did I pick Kyle and Footprints? One place, who was supplied by my condo's management company, said the floors were too old to be sanded and stained. I got a good price form someone else but it did not include staining. When Kyle came, the tipping points for me were (a) I liked him (b) he gave me a pamphlet of stains and showed me the most popular ones per real estate agents (c) he said the floors were old but could take one more sanding and stain. That to me showed knowledge, expertise, and consideration of my ultimate goal - selling the place. And, they did a great job.

Before speaking to Kyle at Footprints I thought it was important for me to speak directly with a subcontractor who would personally be performing the floor installation themselves. In doing so it wasn’t clear that these other contractors really heard or would ultimately act on what I was saying, or whether they really cared, often hearing the common refrain “no problem.” Kyle was very effective at listening to and addressing my concerns throughout the entire process and then successfully passing the information and my concerns on to Rudy and Riamundo who followed through on those details during the installation. Effective communication, listening, understanding and follow through are paramount qualities, abilities and skills to possess and employ in order to translate the many details of the job into a quality, thorough execution of the installation. These qualities are not always easily found. I was out of town for much of the process and had to handle details remotely, by phone and text, making these qualities all the more important to my circumstance. Kyle and Footprints was extremely responsive to my phone calls, texts, concerns and needs and they made themselves available in a very validating, accommodating and prompt manner, directly addressing my concerns with excellent listening, communication and follow through skills that turned my vision into a fabulous result. He will allow you to be as involved in the process as much as you care to be or take on matters independently. He stands behind his work and will not disappear. Footprints Floors Chicago (FFC) did an excellent job refinishing a bedroom, stair treads and landings. FFC also replaced damaged floor boards in our 1920s era house and expertly matched the existing pine floor boards. We were greatly appreciative of how easy it was to work with FFC as they scheduled our job around the scheduling needs of our family. FFC were timely, efficient and did a great job with minimizing the dust from a very messy job. We will call on FFC when we are ready to tackle our next flooring related project effort.

He came, took measurements and had an estimate back to me within an hour or so. No "if you sign now.." stuff. His pricing was below the competition. I got 6 estimates. They had materials available and I was less than a week from estimate to completion for 2 rooms of hardwood. The men who did the work were efficient and polite.
