Nail holes, existing nails, paint splashes, carpet strip holes, termite damage - all repaired and refinished to the point they are hard to notice for both my wife and I. I was preparing for my upcoming relocation from DC to Grand Rapids several months ago and started with getting my hardwood floors refinished in my new older home. I contacted three different flooring companies, Footprints being one of them and the other two will remain unnamed. Company #1 never returned my call. Company #2 eventually returned my call over a week later. Footprints answered my call with a live person. Off to a good start. Several hours later, Todd returned my call, and I gave him the particulars, and he came out the very next day. Called me back with an estimate for just doing the hallways and living room, and I immediately contracted with him. He started the process less than a week later. As it turns out, I ended up getting the entire first floor refinished based on pictures Todd showed me. He didn't have to say anything, the pictures told the story. Best decision ever. His crew did the work, finished on time, on budget and the floors looked great. He made many trips to the house and kept me informed throughout the whole process. I am still in DC so communication was critical to me. I can't tell you how many compliments I have received from visitors about how great the floors look. I think I used the term "pretty" at one point. From start to finish, communication, process and 1st class results were simply fantastic. If I could give them 6 stars, I would. Thank you, Todd and crew. I wish all businesses were run this way.

I spent a long time deliberating on who to hire to refinish our wood floors, reading reviews, looking at photos, and watching YouTube videos of the professional vs. DIY jobs. I narrowed it down to two: Footprints and Old to Gold. While I think Old to Gold would have done a fine job, I chose Footprints because of the how they handled the consultation and estimate process. Todd was down to earth, knowledgeable, and offered my restoration options without a gimmicky sales pitch. I'm a big fan of a low-pressure sales approach, and that was exactly my experience. When it came time to get the work done, Footprints helped me modify my options from the estimate to fit my needs. They always responded promptly and were very accommodating. They were communicative during the restoration process and asked questions as they arose to ensure the work was being done to our liking. They sent photos of trouble areas where deeper stains were more difficult to obscure, and made sure we were okay with the result. When we saw the floors for the first time, we were both amazed at how wonderful they looked. It was so much better than either of us expected. We had one super minor spot we had a question about, and we're offered options to make it look how we want it. Todd fielded all of our questions for future care of the floors with patience and answered in specific detail. Overall: Every time I see these floors I grin. Couldn't be more pleased and relieved to have made the right choice.

These guys were top notch from start to finish. We had vinyl flooring installed along with a sizable amount of backsplash (app. 75 sq ft of backsplash and 230 sq ft of flooring). All 3 subcontractors who came into my home were professional and did outstanding work, and the owner came over himself on multiple occasions for follow-up. They were responsive to all communications and the job was completed in a timely fashion. In addition the price was very fair. We plan to hire them again to refinish our wood floors next year!

Todd and his crew at Footprints just finished refinishing the floors in our 1940s house and really transformed the space. We had carpet over the original hardwoods that were covered in white paint. The end product is beautiful! They were so easy and professional to work with. We plan to work with them again on a future project!

They did a great job on resurfacing our hardwood floors, they look awesome and I could not be happier with it. The guys doing all the work were very easy going and professional. They communicated with me on what they were doing every step of the way. They fixed over a dozen boards and replaced some, cant even tell what ones are new or original. I highly recommend Todd and his company. I was having new hardwood flooring installed through my entire main floor, and a different contractor completely messed the job up and took forever. I called Todd among several others to assess my situation. Todd’s quote was consistent with other flooring contractors, which was a good sign. What set him apart was his empathy for my nightmare situation—within one week after calling him, he had a crew not only working already, but they were almost done. Furthermore, Todd and his crew were extremely knowledgeable about the fact that my prior contractor had installed maple planks, which I now know are notoriously difficult to stain dark (as I had wanted from the beginning). As the process continued, Todd worked with me to make the best decisions to correct what the prior contractor had done. We consulted on stain colors; he had me select a few and they put the stain samples down on the actual floor so I could get a better idea of how it would look. He let me know of different products to use as a finish top coat, which was very important due to the fact we were doing a kitchen and we have two dogs. During the project, he remained available to troubleshoot a few issues that arose and gave me daily progress updates. The crew was also able to finish well under the time estimated, which allowed us to get back in the home quicker. I’ve never written a good or bad review for any product or service, but specifically asked Todd if he could provide a link for me to give him a review. The service and end project was exceptional. I will be using his company in the future if I have any additional projects arise.

We loved working with Todd and the crew at Footprints Flooring on our new home. We had original white oak floors under all the carpet and laid new red oak floors in the rooms that did not have hardwood (not knowing the other floors were white oak). They were very efficient and communicative through each step of the process and helped us pick the perfect stain to blend our mixed woods through the house. They also cut in heating vents and flush mounted vent covers and repaired a few damaged boards we had. We went with the Invisible 2 step hardener finish. It all turned out so beautiful! Amazing professionals! Went above and beyond in many ways. We installed new floors and my handicapped dog was slipping on the new hardwood stairs. Todd immediately found a solution and came and installed his solution within 24 hours to make sure my dog didn’t get hurt. Would recommend FF Floors to anyone. They also stayed true to their quote, even though there were a couple hurdles that they could have charged more for.

We bought a home and were needed to move in, but also needed to get the floors refinished before hauling all our stuff in. We contacted Footprints and they were available the next day to come to the home and give us a quote! They were super flexible with scheduling and worked to get our hardwoods floors refinished quickly (within two weeks!) so we could get moved in. Importantly, the floors are gorgeous!
